Re: Dec16 - No Name Demo

The No Name demo was great! All kinds of brothas came out for the day of ripping. Of course, the Shed team was there; Jason, Nicky, Hall, and Byrd. We were definitely glad to see the boys from Charleston come up; Dane, Eric, and Mr. Mike Grier. Friends from the AUG and from Aiken made it up too; Kenneth, Wesley, David, Mat, Chris, and Steven were just a few of the many supporters who came to ride. We are deeply thankful for all our friends, and hope we will all have an opportunity in the near future to do this again. Thanks again go to Mikey at No Name Skatepark for hosting, and props to the locals who killed it today!

Jeff Byrd update!

Since his knee injury during the session at Brook Run Skatepark, Jeff has been laying off the board. After talking to him yesterday though, he isn't far from ripping again. Some slight muscle weakness and a little tightness in the joint never keeps him away. He will be back in full action soon enough! Sometimes I wonder how he heals from these things. He is like the lost brother of Danny Way!

Shed Trip to Alabama!

Shed skateboards recently took a trip to Fort Payne, Al for a demo. The first stop was the new Brookrun Skatepark in Atlanta! We got into town friday night, and headed straight to the park (aw yeah!). Everyone was excited to skate some concrete and proceeded to tear it up, but in the end it tore Jeff Byrd up. A fall in the deep end of the pool forced him to hit his knee hard, and end his weekend! Saturday morning we hit the road in route to our destination, Alibi skateshop in Fort Payne, to meet up with the owner Johny and his crew. We got into town around 11 a.m. and check out his shop. Its a cool deal. He has a full-on print shop/skate shop with a mini-ramp upstairs! We warm up on that little gem for about an hour. Nicky Motto and Jeff Hall definitely held it down! And thanks to Byrd, we've got some footy to share. Time for the DEMO! The demo was at a town festival, that blocked off their entire main street. Johny did a great job organizing the building of the ramps and the lot where the demo was held. Thanks to all those who helped him! We appreciate you! Nicky skated really well, and the kids enjoyed his seeing him! Jeff Hall entertained the crowd with his freestyle stuff. After the demo, we hung with Johny for a bit back at the shop, before heading to the Ghetto Banks in Birmingham. JEFF HALL DESTROYED THIS PLACE, hands down! We can’t wait for all of you to see this footy! Next stop was the ever famous, crooked double set. Shed prospect David Gladkowski got a couple of tricks down the set, before snapping his board on a 360 flip, which he would have ridden away from if it didn't fold on him. We headed back to Atlanta for the night, with the Georgia game on the radio (you know it!). We woke up the next morning and decided the spot, Emory. Nicky, Hall, and David all get lines!! At this point, we were all done and it was time to go HOME! Shed would like to thank Johny at Alibi Skateshop for the good time. We hope to see his crew again, at the next festival and demo. HOLLA!!!

Shed Rider Change

Shed regrets to announce the loss of team rider Kenneth Golden.
Dismissing Kenneth has been Shed's most challenging decision yet. As
many of you know, Kenneth is a remarkable skater with amazing talent;
however, in the end Shed had to make a business decision. Expect to
see Kenneth scooped up by another team quickly, because his skating is
more than worthy.

Sat. August 18th

Members from Shed and some friends are planning a visit to NoName Skatepark for the saturday evening session. Hope to see you there as well.

Benefit @ The Park

Shed plans to attend a benefit for the family of Flatbottom Skateboard's owner Larry Reeves. The event is scheduled for Sat. August 25th, and we strongly encourage all of you to come and join in during this time of need.

Mizael Qualifies!

Mizael skated in the prelims at the Panasonic Open today and qualified for the finals. For anyone who follows big name contests like the Dew Tour, skating against top pros like Bucky Lasek, Tony Hawk, and Bob Burnquist and making it to the finals is a hard task to accomplish. Congrats to Mizael, and good luck in the finals on Saturday! The contest is televised on some local channels, and almost always on FuelTV. So check it out!

Keep Casey In Your Thoughts!

A great friend of ours, Casey, had a 4-wheeler accident the other day in which he contacted a tree. He is currently in a coma at the MCG Medical Center ICU with the chance of not recovering. He has always been a great friend and spirit to all that knew him. Please keep Casey and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this tough time.

No Name Demo!

Yesterday was the demo at No Name skatepark. We rolled in around noon and got warmed up. This time we decided to block off the course for the actual demo. It was a success. Flying around the park is much easier without people everywhere. This demo featured prospective shed rider kenneth golden. Kenneth held it down with multiple tech tricks in the street box area. Some highlights were his popshuvit nose manual 180 and his halfcab kickflip manual 180 out. Hall killed the bowl as always. This he time extended his boardslide up the esculator and around the corner into the flat wall, a total distance of around 10 feet. Jeff byrd and waldo ripped it as well. Jeff did the highest frontside air over the hip, ever. Jason frontside 5-0'd up the esculator and around the whole corner at mach speed. After the demo a heated game of skate went down between kenneth and nicky, in which kenneth took the win. It was fun and we hope to see you all at the next one.

McBride's Bowl-thday Party!

We had a great time at Brian's bowl jam yesterday. There was some pretty harsh skating that went down. Brian's backside layback tailslide was reigning champ! Right there next to it, was Hall's frontside airs over the escalator into the deep end and Byrd's nollie nosepick on the river rock. Happy Birthday Brian! Check back for video and pics.

Jeff Byrd, Jeff Hall and Nicky Visit No Name!

We took a day trip up on Sat 6th. As usual Mikey and the guys were there to greet us. Its always nice to see the people who own there parks working there. We had a blast and as always plan on returning. Some of the highlights were Jeff Hall's rock 'n roll slide around the whole deep end corner of the bowl and Jeff Byrd's gay-twists, nollie melons and back lips on vert. Nicky also skated well in the street course with flip tricks on the bank and grinds throughout.
